Welcome to The Hunsaker Hive!! I am so excited about our new family blog:) This blog came about because of Sami's great idea for a family newsletter. Sami wanted to have a way to keep us all involved and up to date about each others lives. Even though some of us live farther away, that doesn't mean that we can't have just as close of a relationship as we would if we lived close to each other. So hopefully this can help us to stay close and to know what is going on in each others lives.
I wanted to start by answering a few questions that you might have:
1. Is this private or can anyone get on this blog?
*This is a private blog so you can't get on it unless your invited. I you want someone to be invited that I haven't, let me know. Also I have made each one of you administrators so that means that everyone should be able to post and make other needed changes.
2. Can anyone put events on the family calendar or just me(Hollie) and what kind of stuff should we put on?
* Yes anyone can add an event to the family calendar. And please do! You can add anything and everything! For example you can put soccer games on the calendar, or dance recitals, graduations, school programs, baptisms, family trips, ect. We want to know what you are doing so share your schedule with us. Also this will be a great way for Mom and Dad to know our kids' activity schedule and if they can make it to any of their performances/games.
3. I saw the calendar on the Hunsaker Hive homepage and I can't get into it. How do I add my events?
* The calendar on the homepage is and embedded version of our calendar in Google calendars and can't be changes from our homepage. Go to the menu bar on Hunsaker Hive and Click on Family Calendar. You will be redirected to our Google calendar and from there you can add events. If you are not given access please comment on our homepage and I will make sure that your email is given access.
4. Why did you send me so many email invites to our blog?
* Our blog is actually four blogs linked together, so you need to accept each invite so that you can access each page. If you can't access a page please post a comment and let me know and I will make sure that you can.
5. What kinds of things should I post on the Hunsaker Hive homepage?
*It could be as simple as telling us about something cute that your kids did, or you could post about a trip that you went on and add pictures for us to see. Post about birthday celebrations here or trips to the museum ect. This page is to post your day to day fun with your family.
The other pages were set up so that we could exchange recipes (on cooking with the family), or get a spiritual boost (on strengthening home and family), to get tips on emergency preparedness (Strengthening Home and Family), Gardening Tips (Strengthening home and family), and to collect, share and archive family history stories, pictures, pedigree charts ect.
This is for all of us so feel free to make suggestions and changes!
